WHO AM I?
Who am I? A spunky Ohio native, I grew up in Decatur, Georgia. My full name is Ebone’, pronounced eh-bo-nae (French, which I am not.), Desiree’ Cooper. My friends and family call me Barbie; people always tell me I remind them of a Barbie doll. This is based on the fact that I am always smiling, my obsession with the color pink, and my bubbly personality. When I was twelve, my family and I moved to Snellville, Georgia. There I spent my remaining school years at Snellville middle, and graduating from South Gwinnett high school. I was involved in many groups, but my favorites were environmental club, Spanish club, and my involvement in the Ms. South pageant. I placed top ten and I won miss photogenic. I have also always been very involved in church. I choreographed and danced for Light of the World, and I was a youth leader for Ray of Hope Christian church. Although I was as busy as a bee, my family is first and foremost the biggest part of my life.
Family has always been a big part of my life. In my immediate family there is my mother and step-father Tiffany and Richard Jones, and my three younger brothers. There is Alex (5), Nygel (9), and Kajuan (17). This is disregarding my parents recent split. Although we are a six person family by ourselves, my family has always taken in other family members of our family from all over the United States. For example, currently my aunt Deandrea, and her two daughters, Brianna (11) and Alexis (3), are living with us. My older cousin Jamie (25) is also living with us. A house full, I know. Only the heavens can imagine what our houses look like when more family members come to “visit”. Despite the distance or anything my family sticks together. My grandmother has always stressed that when you don’t have anything or anyone, you will still have family.
Even with what has to be one of the biggest families known to this world, my family has taken in many people. One in particular is a young woman named Ebony Lewis....
