The United States in no doubt has suffered some of the most severe attacks in history. I will attempt to describe again on two events with similar affects to our great nation. There is also no doubt that America has been in the cross hairs of many nations that do not have the freedom that we have today. When America thinks about being attacked there are two the will come to Americans mind. Those attacks that happened on American soil where American blood was shed by the thousands. The two attacks that haunt American minds when talked about are; the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941 from the Japanese, and September 11, 2001 when America was attacked by Al Qaida terrorist.
In 1940, under the Export Control Act, the U.S. halted shipments of airplanes, parts, machine tools, and aviation gasoline, which Japan saw as an unfriendly act and was angered from these actions. In the following year, President Franklin Roosevelt would halt oil exports which would further more make the Japanese angry. Although the America was worried about the Japanese conducting such an operation, many believed it would never happen. Japan had moved a navy fleet towards the Pacific. The attack would involve over three hundred planes. The plan of the Japanese was to destroy the Navy fleet in Hawaii with total surprise. America never so it coming, the Japanese planes arrived at Pearl Harbor with no resistance, arriving with surprise. Bomb after bomb, wave after wave, the Japanese were destroying everything they could and as quick as they could. They had already caused havoc by surprising the American Navy, whom at the time was not fully prepared to defend a base.
Each bomb that was dropped caused American blood to spill. Although Navy fighters attempted and did shoot some Japanese planes down, but it had already been too late. The damage was severe; nearly all the Navy ship vessels had been either damaged or destroyed. America was in shock, and very angered and wanted something done...
