-This text shows that over the years, women have struggled for equality and basic rights in the Islam world. It also focuses on how women are fighting back to oppression with progressive interpretations of Islam. I will use this book to argue that even though women in the islam world are constantly put down, they are fighting for their freedom. They aren't keeping the issue inside their homes, instead they are actually realizing there should be a feminist movement.
2.Doorn-Harder, P. v. (2006). Women Shaping Islam: Reading the Qu'ran in Indonesia (1 ed.). Urbana: University of Illinois Press.
- This book focuses on how womens have influenced the two largest Islamic groups in the United States. The book also states that these women are never given credit to and that something needs to be done. This book is mostly on how women's have influenced religious groups, and how in fact they're active in religious matters. I would use this book to argue that in fact women have made important contributions to Islamic religious movements.

- This book focuses on Muslim women in America. I can use this book to compare and contrast the role of women in the Middle East to the role women play within the United States. Whether some customs change or whether it's all the same.
4.Keddie, N. R. (2006). Women in the Middle East: Past and Present. Princeton: Princeton University Press.
- This book will help me give differences and similarities of women in the Middle East between in the past and in the present. Allowing me to notice certain traditions. Also, in the book Keddie gives an autobiographical interviews of her life and career as one of the...
