The Church of Scientology
The Church if Scientology is a now a major religion to have been born in the 20th century. Is still is a very small religion compared to all the rest that have been around for thousands years. The Church of Scientology was first created, or better said introduced, to the world by L. Ron Hubbard, a science fiction writer, in his book of “Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health (1950)” (Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia). The breakthroughs of scientology are applicable priciples that explain the fundamental laws of life, why people behave the way they do, the barriers to survival and how to get rid of them.
The beginning of this new religion started with Hubbard book. Today in the world there’s more than 7,500 churches and groups in the world that practice Scientology. Scientology is defined as the study and handeling of the spirit in relationship to itself, universer and other life. The mission of the church is to help the individual, in this casa you, to regain his true nature, as a spiritual being, and then attain an awareness of his relationship with humanity and universe. There lies the path to personal integrity, trust, enlighment, and spiritual freedom itself. Mainly it goal is to increase and heal the spiritual awareness for all.
Scientology is a religion in its highest meaning as it brings man to toal freedom and truth. The essentials to this religion are pretty simple. The principles are, you are an immortal spiritual being, your espirience extends well beyong a single lifetime, and your capabilities are unlimited. Futhermore “man is basically good” (Hubbard).
In scientology, you are called a thetan. This name comes from the greek letter theta, for thought or life or the spirit). The thetan is the spiritual being himself, you.” You would not speak of the thetan; you would speak of me” (Hubbard).
