We came here to start fresh.   We came here to explore new land.   We came here to expand our empire.   We did not come here to separate; yet, that’s exactly what we’re doing.   Without England, we wouldn’t be where we are today.   Without their money, and their support we would have never even ended up here.   Leaving them completely would be like leaving your family at a very young age.   We are too young and too weak to give up their protection.   Just think about all they have done for us!   They forced us to become one during the Seven Year’s War, and look how much land we have now!   They also never meant any harm in the “Acts” they implied upon us.   Especially with the quartering act, it made me extremely angry to see people get mad about housing the soldiers that fight for their home nation.   Also, the only way an empire can economically survive is with taxes.   Every other nation in the world uses taxes, and just because we are a new one doesn’t give us the right to live free from them.   The Boston Tea Party was completely ridiculous and look where it got us:   the Boston Harbor is now closed!   England only wanted to help us by increasing our revenue in order for the colonies to get started on the right foot.   There was no reason for our negative reactions!   If we would have reacted positively, many of the events that have led us to weakening ties with England would never have happened.   For example, the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, and numerous boycotts that have done nothing but harm our developing economy.   If you step back and look at the big picture, we only have to pay about one twenty-sixth of the taxes that England pays back home.   Without England, we would just be too weak;   they sign our treaties, they fight our wars, and they keep our developing economic system from going under before it even starts.   We need them, and if we ever separated from them, the consequences would be disastrous.
