Skill Rational: Conflict Management
Conflict is something that may occur in your everyday life, however when it rears its head into the workplace it may leave an uncomfortable setting for you and everyone around you. Confronting that person that you may be in conflict with and holding them accountable for what they have done may be harder for some than you would think. Through my research I have found that there are ways to resolve a conflict whether it is in a workplace or in your personal life. According to the article Management; The Very Model of Conciliation by Mickey Meece, “What really threatened the agency's productivity and moral was an avalanche of complaints by angry, frustrated employees”. The steps that are taken to resolve a conflict are crucial to the success of the resolution. I chose this skill because as an employee I have been involved in many conflicts leaving turmoil and chaos at the workplace and I want to learn how to calm my attitude towards conflict and better myself. As an employee at Starbucks I have found myself in conflict with many people due to the lack of commitment and gossip that surrounds the coffee shop. This one girl and I in particular have been involved in many conflict and by not knowing how to resolve the first conflict we have engaged in many others. Through my research I have learned many new ways on how to resolve conflict in my everyday life.
Research has allowed people to learn more about a subject that they may not have known about.
