After a long mourning of work I take the short trip up parleys canyon to get to Park City Mountain Resort. Slowly but surely you see mountains with the bright glimmering snow.   While parked in the giant parking lot it was time to gear up for a great session of snowboarding. Jacket, pants, boots, gloves, goggles, and helmet are thrown on within minutes and ready to go. Walking to the chair lifts with board in hands you see the massive jumps and amazing scenery in the distance. The music is put in my ears and snapped on the board and it is time to ride. Park City Mountain Resort is my favorite ski resort for many reasons; It’s one of the easiest resorts to get to, has many hidden runs no one knows about, and has one of the best park sessions in the nation.
Many resorts in Utah can be hard to get to during the winter if you don’t have a fancy four-wheel drive car. Park City is much more easier to get to because they take well care of the uphill curvy highway. The enormous tank like trucks cut through the snow like a hot knife cuts butter. Dumping chemicals, and salt to keep the slippery ice from building. Driving up the highway gives me time to relax and build for that awesome snow you will be soon be shredding.
People think that Park City Mountain Resort is too crowded and has nothing but groomed runs and parks. This is false, going there for five years I have discovered many runs and trails many people have not had the pleasure to ride. Taking up the many lefts up to the top of the mountain where you see the massive other side of the mountain. The wind blows flurries of snow in your face and sounds like the mountain is roaring. While dropping of the side of the mountain you fall into a sea of trees and deep unpaved snow. Once in the trees everything is turned off and all you hear is your breath and branches cracking from being weighed down by snow. Flowing through the snow and dodging trees is relaxing and exhausting at the same time. But once I get that...
