Within this discussion board we are asked to talk about nature vs. nurture, and pick two parts of our identity and psychological makeup. I am going to talk about motivation, what has given me the motivation to pick the profession that I have chosen. What motivated me to choose the profession that I have chosen is because of the lifestyle that I was raised up in. I was raised up in a home where parents did not care about me, that abused me mentally and physically. They told me that I would never amount to anything, that they would see me picking up trash off the side of the road and see me living in a ditch. Well this has made me the person I am today, like one classmate mentioned in his/her post, I am like the Michael Oher in the “Blindside” movie, he had a family to help pick him up and take him on into the NFL (Allen, 2012) but as for me I picked my own self up and made the decision to better my life and the life for my children.
Don’t get me wrong I come from a family that is hard working and is dependable, this too has molded me in the type of person that I am today. I have always been the type to give all I have on a job and learn as much as I can on my job. My dad is a Certified Welder, he has been working ever since he was old enough to work, and this has taught me that what you put into live is what you get out of live, if you give your all, then plan to be rewarded. I teach my kids that an employer is not going to have them doing a job half way either it’s going to be done right or they won’t have a job, I teach them to give all they have in a job, perform to the best of their ability and they will never be without.
In the world we live today society has caused me to choose Criminal Justice...
