Developmental psychology studies the changes in humans throughout their lives.   Developmental psychology has seven levels of development.   First is the pre-natal stage.   There are three levels to the prenatal development.   The germinal, embryonic and fetal stages.   Once the child is born it continues on into infancy stage which last until the child is born till one year of age.   During infancy the child’s brain is very responsive to the world around it.   Motor and sensory systems develop significantly during this time.   Next is toddlerhood, which is between one year to two years old.   Children begin to learn how to walk, talk, and make decisions.   Early childhood is from three years old to eight years old.   In early childhood children develop socially, cognitively, and physically greatly during this time.   Once the child reaches 9 years of age they enter adolescence.   Adolescence is broken down into three parts.   Early adolescence which is from nine to thirteen years, Mid adolescence, thirteen to fourteen years, and late adolescence ages 14 to 18 years of age.   The adolescence stage is where the child develops their personal and social identity.   Early adult hood is the phase between the teen years and adult hood.   It is the time where they start taking responsibility for providing for themselves.   There are five states in early adulthood.   1. Sense of identity   2. Instability   3. Self focused   4. Feeling in-between   5.   Age of possibilities.   The transition from early adulthood to middle adulthood brings an indifference between generatively and slowing down.   Finally we reach late adulthood. Late adulthood is generally people over the age of 60.  
Cognitive psychology studies the mind and mental functions.   This covers learning, memory, attention, perception, reasoning, language, conceptual development, and decision making.   There are three different areas of memory.   Sensory memory is brief and limited in capacity.   Short term memory is the memory you work...
