My Favorite Place in Washington
Yakima, Lake Chelan, Leavenworth are all fun, but the place that my family enjoys year after year is a town called Toppenish. Toppenish is very special to me because it is always the best part of my summer, where I have the most fun. Toppenish provides my family with a great place for quality time, amazing surroundings, endless entertainment, and spectacular food.
In Toppenish, my family and I have a great together time. We stay at the top rated Yakama Nation RV Park, which has a great pool and running trail. I get to exercise with my mom, which helps get me in shape for football season. The pool is never crowded, especially in the mornings. We spend hours there, playing pool hoops, diving and baking in the Eastern Washington sun. We never follow a schedule and everyone gets to do what they want. We also get the opportunity to have campfires. There is never a burn ban in the park because we use portable fire pits. At this time, we can make Smores and tell ghost stories, which is incredibly fun.
Toppenish boasts about the natural magnificence surrounding it. Nearly every day, in the summer, the weather ranges from 70 to 90 degrees. The countryside is full of wildlife, gardens, fruit orchards, vineyards, crystal-clear lakes and see-through rivers, along with sugar-topped mountains. Mt. Adams sits in off in the distance making a great backdrop for our morning runs around the trail. Toppenish also has Wildlife Refuge- a national reserve where you can view a large number of waterfowl. Ft. Simcoe is an old army fort just a short drive away. It is a great place to explore and have a picnic.
