Below is an essay on "In Defense of Food by Michael Pollans" from Anti Essays, your source for research papers, essays, and term paper examples.

Based on my reading from Michael Pollans, “In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto” I’ve comed to realize that I don’t eat for nutrients.   I mostly eat for whatever looks good or know tastes good.   When it comes to food I am extremely picky, I mainly dislike vegetables.   What I mostly eat you could say are fatty foods which are unhealthy.   I’m aware of this based on nutrition fats which I have come to see on the food I’ve been eating.
Michael Pollan states “Because most of what we’re consuming today is not food, and how we’re consuming it-in the car, in front of the TV, and increasingly alone-is not really eating.   Instead of   food, we’re consuming “edible foodlike substances”-no longer the products of nature   but of food science,” I agree with what he say.   We mostly just eat anything when we’re bored or have nothing to do.   Drive-throughs are the main concern on why people get fact, every drive through are fatty foods, which a list of them would be Wendy’s, McDonalds, Burger King, etc.   My personal favorite would be Wendy’s, which I looked up its nutritional facts, I wasn’t too pleased to find out the numerous amount of calories I’ve been consuming because of the certain meal.   I tend to usually eat a Crispy Chicken Deluxe with only mayo, it contains 330 calories, 130 calories from fat, and 670 mg of sodium. My meal also brings French Fries which contain 430 calories, 180 calories from fat, and 370 mg of sodium.   A medium Coca-Cola has 200 calories and 56 grams of

sugar.   I have been eating a total of 770 calories; this is unfortunately pretty shocking and depressing to me.   It scared me to come about to this conclusion; it’s shown me that I should stop eating Wendy’s.
On page 30 Pollan states that “It seems to be a rule of nutritionism that for every good nutrient, there must be a bad nutrient to serve as its foil, the latter a focus for our food fears and the former for our enthusiasms.’, clearly he’s stating that there is no such thing...
