For my primary research on my topic I plan to use Interview Questions. I feel that an interview will work better to answer the type of questions I have. Knowing that my topic is dealing with the grief of a parent’s suicide, I plan to interview the Erin’s House for grieving children. I researched some on Erin’s house, to find out what exactly this counseling service offers, and who is in charge.
Erin’s House provides support services for children, teens, and their families, that have experienced the death of a loved one. Erin’s house opened in October 1993, and has served more than 10,000 individuals. David and Gail Farragh lost their daughter Erin Farragh, on January 5, 1989, at age six. Although David and Gail had a place to go to deal with their grief about their daughter’s death, their other children, Erin’s younger siblings, Tony and Megan, did not.
Yearning for a way to help their children cope with their loss, they consulted Tracie Martin, a Farragh family friend. Back in 1989 she led The Junior League of Fort Wayne. She then founded Erin’s House for Grieving Children, making it the first of its kind in Indiana, and 32nd grieving center for children in the United States. They are now celebrating 15 Years of helping Children and their Families.
After doing this preliminary research, I have decided to interview the Executive Director of Erin’s House, Debbie Meyer, or the Development Director Katie Burns. I plan to ask them if the Farragh family is available as well for interview, but I’m sure all of my questions could be answered by the aforementioned people. The questions are based on an interview with the Executive Director of Erin’s House, Debbie Meyer. I also will include questions I plan to ask Erin’s father. If this interview is not possible, I will just base my questions on the director.
In conclusion, I feel that this interview will be a very beneficial...
