The Lies and the Deception of MEAN GIRLS
If you have ever been to high school, I am positive that you have come across at least one mean girl throughout the course of your high school career. When meeting a “mean girl” or actually any girl for that matter, one is immediately thrown into a feisty world to that which is known as “Girl World.” Thus, one now comes across many lies and deception which are the concepts that I have observed in the movie Mean Girls.
Cady, who has lived in Africa for most of her life, thinks she knows all about the “survival of the fittest.” But the law of the jungle takes on whole new different meaning when Cady is forced to face teen reality when she enters public high school for the very first time. Striving to find her place among the art freaks, jocks, mathletes and many other subcultures, Cady meets Regina aka the Queen Bee and the leader of the school’s most fashionable clique, The Plastics. But when Cady falls for Regina’s ex-boyfriend, Aaron Samuels, the Queen Bee is stung. Regina now decides to scheme to ruin Cady’s social future. Cady’s own claws come out along with her old friend Janice, who also wants revenge. And the three girls fall deeper into a “Girl World” war that has the entire school running for cover.
Throughout the entire movie and especially through the scene, the lies that Cady came up with, have backfired. When the character Janice, falls into the “truth pit” and spills the truth on Cady, Regina goes nuts. In the beginning of the movie, everyone thought very highly of Cady but now the whole student body now thinks very low of her. The concept of lying and deception is particularly important to understanding what is going on because the concepts are the basis of the entire movie. It ties the entire movie together and you really get to see who the mean girls really are. When the truth is unveiled, a lesson appears. Lying to and deceiving a person will get you nowhere. And it will...
