Maintaining innocence in a corrupt society can only be achieved if someone is continually perceived as innocent by that society.   In other words, if other people don’t see someone as an innocent person, then they are no longer innocent. To maintain that perception, someone will need to understand what people see as innocent. They will need to watch society as society watches them and see what behaviors are considered “innocent.”
