In 1857 the Republicans celebrated the new Constitution, where the liberals expressed their posture, and it provoked the most important political dispute in the Mexican government between Conservatives and Liberals, consequently it caused a separation of the nation, a War of the Reform, and a foreign government, but great personalities like Benito Juarez constantly fought to defend their ideals to develop a single and strong nation identity.
Disagreement between Conservatives and Liberals divided Mexico nation since the two parties had different visions for Mexico. Liberals wanted a modern and industrial country for this reason they tried to establish a Republican government where they guaranteed a social order and a stable economy. On the other hand, Conservatives opposed since they were owners of the majority of the land, and the new laws would prejudice them. In 1857 the new constitution was proclaimed, and it represented the Liberals victory, and in this constitution included three Reform Laws (Ley Juarez, Lerdo, and Iglesias).   Theses laws prohibited ecclesiastical and civil institutions to own and to administrate real property, and prohibited the church to charge high fees for administering the sacraments, also the liberals wanted to stimulate the land market to encourage an economic develop. The Conservatives were very resisted to the new Constitution, and they wanted to abolish it, therefore Mexico nation was divided since the citizens tough the laws were opposing to their religion. The Mexico president, Comonfort wanted to stay in the precedency for this reason he abolished the constitution, and he supported the Conservatives, but his plan was an error that concluded with two presidents in Mexico; Benito Juarez and Felix Zuloaga, but they were enemies since Juarez was Liberal and the Zuloaga was Conservative.
