Human beings take for granted that we cannot live without money. It affords luxuries and opportunities; it can solve problems in some situations, and in many other situations it can at least make problems easier to solve. For many people, money is everything because they believe that having a lot of money can bring them to the satisfaction of which they have dreamed. However, I personally think that money is not everything for these following reasons.
Firstly, we cannot negate that we need money, but money is not the passkey to open every door. Actually, money is only the material thing which is created for our convenience. Imagine a person has enough money to buy anything he wants, but with only that resource such a person could be truly happy and fulfilled? This reminds me of a poem “Money can buy a house but not a home. Money can buy a bed but not sleep. Money can buy a clock but not time. Money can buy a book but not knowledge. Money can buy food but not an appetite. Money can buy position but not respect. Money can buy blood but not life. Money can buy medicine but not health. Money can buy sex but not love. Money can buy insurance but not safety”. Hence, having a lot of money does not mean that having everything in life.
Secondly, money is not the only reason for our existence. Most people will work to earn money; some even risk his own life and dignity by doing a criminal act only to have money. However, money is not the measurement of happiness and satisfaction in our lives. Much more important than money is our family sentiment, friendship and love which support us when we are down, help us grow up, and make us realize such meaningful life. One family who has not a lot of money can still be very happy because to them, care and love are the worthiest value. Therefore, we should not consider money the matter of great importance but forget simple, modest things which can make our lives worthy and valuable.
Lastly, money is...
