President Barrack Obama made a pretty powerful and convincing speech, on September 8th, on how to improve our economy. His speech talked about the “The American Jobs Act” he wants the congress to approve of immediately. According to the president “The American Jobs Act” contains all the kind of proposal that's been supported by both Democrats and Republicans. Obama also state that this bill will help small business and as well as large business grow and also claims that It will help create more jobs for construction workers, more jobs for teachers, more jobs for veterans, and more jobs for long-term unemployed. I believe that this bill will actually work in helping to repair and boost our economy because according to him “The American Jobs Act” will not be added to the deficit. It will be paid for.
He uses many rhetoric techniques during his speech. The use of Rhetorical question was put in place when President Obama asked “How can we expect our kids to do their best in places that are literally falling apart?” Another use of rhetoric was when Obama used other countries to explain how well they are doing compare to the United States. An example would be when he discussed how China is building newer airports and faster railroads. Throughout his speech, Obama said the phrase “pass the job bill” countless times emphasizing on how badly he wants the congress to pass this bill. After hearing his speech and observing how many time people applaud, I just hope congress passes this bill because United States really need this to bring the economy back up.
