As adults we almost all have people we look up to as role models.   As we grow older we begin to figure out who we are and we pick our role models carefully.   Children, on the other hand, usually model their actions after people that they spend the most time with.   Though all children have a favorite celebrity they love, I believe the parents hold the greatest responsibility of being the best role model for the child because the parents are the ones who are held responsible for the child.  
There is no doubt that all kids love to watch TV and have a favorite celebrity they adore.   For example, teen pop star, Miley Cyrus has stolen the hearts of many young girls and even some boys.   After her leak of seductive photos, parents were devastated to know that she wasn’t the sweet little innocent Hannah Montana their children had come to adore.   Though it was sad for the kids to find out that their pop icon had committed a “no, no” I believe that the parents have control over these celebrities.   By this I mean, that the parents have the ability to control the celebrities by monitoring what their kids watch and listen to.   This makes the parents responsible of being good role models by encouraging kids with other positive people in their lives.
The parents also have the greater responsibility of being a good role model for the children because they are the ones who God blessed and appointed to take care of these children. Parents are the ones that spend 24/7, seven days a week with these kids. We all know that through time and studies it has been proven that kids tend to mock their parents words and actions.   Have you ever heard the hit country song, “Watching You” by Rodney Atkins?   This song tells about a little boy who says and does everything his dad does.   He goes from saying a cuss word that he learned from his dad to mocking his dad’s nightly ritual of kneeling by his bed to pray.   This songs is a perfect reality for parents to hear just how important it is to...
