Reconstruction was a chaotic, to say the least, era in the United States, which had lasted for more than a decade immediately following the Civil War. It was a time most people would refer to as a renewal that succeeded in only a few of the goals desirable of being achieved throughout the years it was in movement. Attempts by Reconstruction were made to solve the political, social, and economic problems arising from the readmission to the Union of the 11 confederate states that had been seceded at and before the outbreak of war. Our country was faced with the challenge of bringing the states and citizens back together as one nation. War prolonged intermittently until the early 1900s until African Americans had their vote removed, the Republican Party was essentially destroyed down South, and legal discrimination was applied. Intensity was launched again between 1850 and 1860 when the African Americans started the battle to reclaim their vote, get back their citizen and then their right to finish liberally in the jobs area and a authoritative and sometimes vicious battle movement of conservative Americans began in disagreement. This era upholds a big discussion in U.S. misery and has had a great influence on the nations government. Looking back on this time, too many things went wrong. There are several different approaches the Union should have taken during Reconstruction to prevent the impact of the tragedy left on all Americans today.
During this time, Abraham Lincoln proposed a standard for reestablishment of Southern states known as the 10 percent Reconstruction plan. This plan of his declared that a state could be reinstated into the Union when 10% of the 1860 vote calculation from that state had taken a pledge of loyalty to the U.S. and swore to tolerate by liberation.
