Repentance is a rescuing, not a dour doctrine. It is available to the gross sinner as well as to the already-good individual striving for incremental improvement
Repentance is of the first principals of the Gospel and one of the most essential principals to our temporal and Spiritual and Eternal Happiness. Repentance is much more than just acknowledging our wrong doings, It is a change of mind and a full change of Heart that will in turn give us a fresh view about God, about ourselves, family, friends, and the world around us. When we act upon repentance we are showing our love for god and the true desire we have to fallow His Great Commandments, we find ourselves turning away from sin and towards God for forgiveness.
In Alma 11:37; It declares “That no unclean thing can enter into the kingdom of God” Our sins, Our Judgments, Our wrong doings make us unclean or unworthy to dwell in the presence of our Father in Heaven. Through the Loving, willing sacrifice of Our Savior Jesus Christ and the Love of Our Father in Heaven we can be forgiven of our past sins and move more Joyfully towards the Kingdom of God.
Repentance may not always be a joyful or easy process. Satan wants us to feel the pain and sorrow of our sins. The way through repentance may be a painful path but I can assure you with my own testimony that the comfort and peace of true forgiveness is a lasting eternal Element from God. A promise was given to us through the Prophet Isaiah which states; “though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like Crimson they shall be as wool.” The Lord himself has also promised any man who repents of His sins, the same is forgiven and, I, the Lord will remember them no More.” Now as The Lord will promise us through the words of His Prophets and the words of His own Mouth that he will remember our sins no more, what must our needs be to...
