Romulus suffers thoughout his life but this teaches him what’s important in life ?
Romulus, my father is a biography about “ a good and usual man”—Romulus Gaita. Neverthless, his life suffed from tradegy , from the hardship of his childhood to Christina and Lydia’s betrals.   Yet through his suffering , Romulus Gaita learned to value what is important in life, include “what friendship was” and how to value people very well. Due to in his moral standard , he belived important in his life was unswerving integrity however, this also made him vulnerable immeasurbly suffering.
From the dramatic open image of Romulus , at 13, clutcing a pitchfork to defend himself from a drunken uncle, ran away a home without a father and his early years spent mostly away from his mother. We can see that Romulus earlist life   was hard . “ He knew only porverty” and he had to work extremely hard for the little that he had. Yet had his life been easier , he would probably not have developed the creativity which he put to use throughout the whole of his life. He was always able to make something valuable from the most upprocomising materials, which “ from old sheep bones he found in the paddocks he made cigarette holders and handles for the knives he also made”. We also see that Romulus who’s a skilled migrants had the frustration of being unable to find employment befitting their specially skills and how he was faced in Australia with a culture very different from that to which he had been accustomed. It is seen that Romulus’ australian-born neighbours called him Jack instead of Romulus which implied a lack of full respects. We can speculate about how strange and foreign life in a remote, isolated area they found. And romulus’ marital problems had added to his loneness too. His wife- Christine abandoned romulus for mitru who is a good man he was very fond of . As a result , Romulus lost both his wife and his friend.
