Salvador Dali is a man who tried to change the way people viewed art. When you take a look at Dali’s artwork they make you think, they make you look from a different angle to try and get what the real picture was, to try and find out the message he was trying to get across to the viewers. Dali shall always be an artist that is loved because of the beautiful artwork he has done, he is one of the few artists that became famous while he was still living. Salvador is mostly known from his surrealist paintings such as “The Persistence of Memory”. Salvador Dali is an outstanding artist; he looked at his art from a different perspective. He wanted to make art special and to do so he had to change his style to improve himself and his techniques to shape the way he is known today.

In 1904 Dali was born in Catalonia, Spain. His first masterpiece was “Fiesta of Figueres.” He got noticed at the age of fourteen and had his very first group show. Dali tried to improve many different styles of art. He first tried impressionism then moved on to pointillism, futurism and cubism. He was not only a painter, he was also experimenting with writing, film making and sulpting. Dali’s goal was to fulfill the needs of his mental and social life through a new form of art. He then started surrealism which allowed him to express all of his erotic desires and at the same time change the way the world viewed art. In 1921 Dali was accepted to San Fernando Academy of Art in Madrid but he left because he thought that he should learn in his own way in 1923. Dali then met Picasso and they studied different styles together.
