People are influenced by important historic figures-people who have brought change. Or people are influenced by family members who have to go through rough times. But it is not that way for me. The person who influenced me is ordinary for all but extraordinary in my eyes. Her imperfection makes her amazingly perfect, and she will be against my essay choice- my elder sister.
My sister is the most supportive person that I have, and she is the one who has helped me turn into a better person. She has helped me to become more understanding and caring. Through her assistance I learned how to be strong when time was against me and gave me hope when my dreams shattered. She is the shoulder I cry on, the punching bag on which I can vent out my anger and the diary that keeps all my secrets.
Being a shy person in this world is never easy, as this makes it difficult to communicate and make good friends. I was suffering from such a situation but my sister was always being an extrovert, diffidence never taking control of her life. She was the one who helped me to step out of my comfort zone and made me somewhat garrulous. She convinced me to become a volunteer at Shifa International Hospital. She believed it would give me confidence and help me increase my communication skills. Her advice really brought a change in me as I had to talk to copious numbers of patients and staff. I transformed from a person who used to break out in a cold sweat when it came to communicating with strangers to a self-assured one. I gained enough confidence to whisk away the Best delegate award in a Model United Nations conference I participated in afterwards. Furthermore, I was able to enjoy a work experience in Mobilink, a telecommunication company, and was able to effectively convince customers to buy the company’s products.
