Every man’s dream is to have big muscles and to be strong. Some turn to steroids to get muscles that are impossible to get from just working out. Steroids aren’t just used by men also by women. These kinds of steroids are called Anabolic Steroids.   Anabolic Steroids increase protein synthesis within cells. In result it builds up cellular tissues, especially in muscles. Steroids are popular with bodybuilders, athletes and models.
 
      There are several side affects when using these risky steroids. For example, men’s testicles shrink. Also they experience a reduce in sperm count, development of breasts occurs and the risk of cancer is increased. There are also side effects for women when using steroids. Some of the side affects are growth of facial hair, male-pattern baldness and deepened voice. People who inject Anabolic Steroids can increase their chance for transmitting HIV/AIDS and hepatitis.
     
      When the use of Anabolic Steroids begins to increase and people begin to abuse it, their level of aggression begins to rise drastically. These symptoms of aggression may lead to severe mood swings and violence. This proves that Anabolic Steroids not only affect individuals physically but mentally as well.   People undergo depression when using Anabolic Steroids and become very paranoid. Studies that are conducted on Anabolic Steroids prove that they can result to becoming addicted to other drugs as well.

    Steroids can be injected to the skin or on to the muscles, by mouth or applying gel on to the skin. The time length that steroids stay in the body is from a couple of day to more then 12 months. One of the main reasons for abuse of anabolic steroids is to improve performance in sports. Another reason people give is that they once were raped or abused so getting big muscles can intimidate others. Also For some young people appearance is the key to life.
