This poem written by Bob Dylan, is a dramatic monologue about love: not just about one person, but about the many relationships a person has throughout his or her life. I cannot tell if this poem chronicles Dylan’s life or is just an assembly of thoughts about relationships, his and others. It is probably a compilation of both.   After the songs were released, he would revise the lyrics during live concerts by adding lines and changing from the first person to the third person.
