In the book The Outsiders there are three brothers: Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry Curtis. In the book the three have been through a lot together. They are all similar and different in many ways. In this essay I will be comparing and contrasting these what makes these characters who they are.
The first character I will looking at is Darry Curtis. He is the oldest if the three brothers. After the boys' parents died in a tragic he takes parent role of the house. He works two jobs and has to support the family. Often Ponyboy thinks that Darry is yelling at him or is disappointed in him. Darry like Sodapop has to work. The two boys have to bring in the money for the house. Darry and Sodapop are the older two who try to make Ponyboy's life better than theirs. Darry like Ponyboy are both very smart students. In school they both did very well in grades. The both of them also did well
Sodapop is the second oldest brother. He dropped out of school have way through high school. He wasn't as good with grades and school as Darry and Ponyboy were. Sodapop had a girlfriend named Sandy. Most girls were afraid of the greasers. It was rare to be a greaser and have a good girlfriend. Sodapop was lucky. He had been with her for a while and really loved her. He was going to propose to her. Sodapop was always commented on for is good...
