The Tragic Ending of Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet’s tragic ending was a main point in the play. This tragic ending could have been avoided if they had thought more about their actions. Three factors that could have changed this ending are obvious. First they could have gotten to know each other more before they got married so quickly and “fell in love”. Secondly, they could have told their parents they were in love and maybe they would eventually understand. Lastly, they could have tried to unite their two families and then maybe when they told them they were in love, it would not have been such a problem. By trying to do any of these three things Romeo and Juliet could have easily avoided their tragic death.

Romeo and Juliet met for one night and instantly “fell in love”. Love at first sight is difficult; people need to get to know each other over a longer time period. Otherwise they might discover something they do not love about the person. “Did my heart love till know? For I swear I ne’er saw true beauty till this night” (Romeo and Juliet. Act 1 scene5. lines 50-51) In Romeo and Juliet this is exactly what  

happened. They went off and got married the day after they met each other. By simply waiting to get married they could

have worked out a better way to solve their problems. This shows that they are young and somewhat immature.
If Juliet and Romeo told their parents, their parents might have understood. ”O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore out thy Romeo? To deny thy father and refuse thy name; or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I no longer be a Capulet.” (Romeo and Juliet Act 2 scene 2 lines 33-36.) Unfortunately, their parents hated each other, which made it difficult for Romeo and Juliet....
