What is the definition of Birth Control Pills? Birth control pills (also called oral contraceptive pills) are a type of female hormonal birth control method, and are very effective at preventing pregnancy. There are many difference kinds of birth control pills (BCP’S) it contain estrogen and progesterone, they are also called “oral contraceptive pills” or “hormone pills” ("Birth control pills," 2011)
Even though Birth control pills cannot prevent all pregnancies, it is one of the safest methods for preventing pregnancy, because is the most effective methods for preventing pregnancy
Because there is less menstrual bleeding when using birth control pills, it is impossible to become anemic. It reduces the chances of getting endometria (lining of the uterus) cancer, ovarian cancer, and ovarian cysts. It also protects against pregnancies that occur outside the uterus. The hormones in most types of the Pill can help stop acne from forming, thus promoting clearer skin. It also promotes regular and lighter periods by regulating the menstrual cycle; period comes about every 28 days. The Pill usually causes lighter periods too.
Possible side effects are, nausea feeling to throw up, this occurs occasionally especially when you first started and will go away after few, it is recommended that pills should be taken last thing at night or first thing in the morning to prevent nausea Headaches may occur due to the nature of the medication, it can make headaches better or worse. Healthcare providers should be contacted if headache gets worse, so that you can be evaluated. There’s the possibility of mood swing, exercise and healthy diet may help alongside talking to a counselor. It is important to talk to you doctor about how you feel.
