Below is an essay on "Values Of Education" from Anti Essays, your source for research papers, essays, and term paper examples.

Values vary in many different aspects of education.   Some may argue that society impacts one’s educational goals as well as the social status of a person based on their educational levels.   Some may perceive their values of education to be career based for financial gain.   These perceptions generate some unique questions.   Do people really place value in education or do they place education as a value?   Meaning do people generally value their education on personal gain of information and knowledge or do they go through the hoops and stunts to achieve higher education only to benefit economically?   And how much of that knowledge do they actually retain? Could it be that people also measure their success within education on salary or social status?   A measurement of success could be as simple as reaching a set goal or mastery of a certain subject or field of study.   It could possibly be that they were hired for a new job or received a raise based on a new and higher education level.   It could also be assumed that the values placed on one’s education are independent to the individual and that not only social and economical status play a role but also goals set as well as expectations from peers and family members.
Some issues with assuming that people base the values of education on social status or careers based on economical gain may be that we are assuming that people to do not learn or receive educational advancement for the purpose of gaining knowledge based solely on that purpose.   If we perceive that to be true and correct then why do the independently wealthy and those that are already in their higher and more desired social circles or careers still continuing in their education.   Since they are already where they wanted to be socially and economically should they also be satisfied with their current level of education?   What will their benefit be for gaining more educational knowledge?
Educational values and success and even what people use to measure...
