In 1783, George Washington, the first president of the United States, led the Americans victory over Great Britain in American Independence War. He then became the hero as known as “the Father of America”. At that time, his revolution against the British was extremely necessary but now, the world has been more democratic and free, so people don’t need violence anymore. There are many different ways to change the world for a better society and nonviolent action is one of the best that is becoming more and more popular in the world today. People who desire to improve the world around them now are likely looking for a peaceful solution. There are many reasons, for example non-violence means no destruction to people and their lives; everybody can be an agent of making changes and being able to get support from the government.

          At first, in present days, people always look for non-violent ways in pursuit of a better world. People always feel dissatisfied about their life and the world around them and non-violent ways are considered as better because of the power of peace. Looking back the past, Gandhi and his people didn’t accept their nation’s dependent on other country, and then they had refined raw negative public opinion into precisely applied political power (Duvall, 2004)1. With total nonviolence, Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights. His movement also contribute partly to freedom across the world was the clearest proof for its power. Totally, because of its powers and properties, people in over the world always are hunger for peaceful change-the-world solutions.

          One nature of non-violence is it creates no destruction to people and their lives. Non-violent actions always come in peaceful ways, in other words, fighting without armies, weapons and wars. This has been evident throughout history and can be seen in the following examples.
