Since marriage is a symbol of a the relationship between Jesus Christ and Christians,
Christians should desire the very best for their marriage. Marriages, modern day time, usually
are a product of dating. Dating is a relatively new system, and so is divorces. Reason being,
dating is now oriented, it involves pain of separation, it is about what can I get, it deals with
pleasure instead of commitment, it is the world's way instead of God's way, and dating is
temporary. Galations 5:16 says "this I say then, walk in the spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust
of the flesh."
Young Christian women should guard their hearts for their future husband and for their
Lord. Christian women should keep their relationships with men casual and avoid situations
that will breed emotional bonds. They should not seek attention for themselves and should ask
their parents for guidance. Christian women should guard their words when there with friends,
and they should avoid all influences that will pollute their thoughts; such as movies, TV, the
Internet, books, and magazines. Proverbs 4:23 says "Keep thy heart with all diligence: for out of
it are the issues of life." When a young Christian women thinks she has found an appropriate
husband she should ask; does he have eternal life, is he truthful, committed to never divorcing,
does he honor his parents, does he read his bible and pray, would he be a good father, does he
ask for forgiveness when he is wrong, is he kind, thoughtful, gracious, and generous, does he
respond to criticism in a Christlike way, is he willing to stand alone or stand up for what he
believes, and is their spiritual fruit in his life?
Christian women are to give up their romantic dreams and focus on thoughts that will
keep them pure. They shouldn't dwell on romantic thoughts, instead they should think about
that which is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. If a...
